Sanitation
Disposable polyethylene aprons are essential in food manufacturing, sanitation operations, healthcare, and any environment where staff need fluid protection without the cost or hassle of reusable garments. Available in two lengths — standard 35" × 50" and longer 35" × 60" — both come 100 aprons per case. The longer version is preferred for tall staff or operations involving lower-body splash hazards.

35" × 50" Standard or 35" × 60" Longer

The standard 35" × 50" apron covers from the chest down to about mid-thigh on an average-height adult — perfect for food prep, deli counters, butcher work, and most kitchen production. The longer 35" × 60" version extends down past the knee, ideal for taller staff, sanitation crews dealing with significant splash, or operations with frequent bending and lifting where shorter aprons ride up. Both come 100 per case.

Why Disposable Beats Reusable

For most operations, the math strongly favors disposable. A reusable apron program requires uniform laundering contracts, replacement budgets, lifecycle tracking for HACCP records, and dedicated changing zones. Disposable aprons eliminate all of that — a fresh apron for every shift, every task, with zero washing logistics. The per-use cost is significantly lower than a reusable program when you factor in laundry overhead.

Where PE Aprons Excel

Polyethylene is fully waterproof and resists most food-grade fluids, mild acids, and sanitizing chemicals. They're not suitable for harsh industrial chemicals or high-heat environments — for those, you need vinyl or neoprene aprons. But for the 95% of food, healthcare, and general sanitation work, PE is the right material at the right price.

Pair with PE Sleeves for Full Arm Coverage

For staff doing wet work that involves the forearms (washing produce, handling raw protein, deep cleaning), pair PE aprons with our PE Sleeves — disposable polyethylene sleeves that extend the apron's protection up to the elbows. Many operations issue both together as a standard wet-work kit.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the 35x50 and 35x60 apron?
Width is the same (35"). The 35x50 covers chest to mid-thigh on an average adult — best for general food prep and counter work. The 35x60 extends to past the knee — better for tall staff, sanitation work, or splash-heavy tasks. Both are 100 per case — request a quote for current pricing.
Are PE aprons food safe?
Yes — polyethylene is approved for food contact in Canada. They're widely used in meat processing, deli production, and bakery operations across the country.
Can these be reused?
No — single-use disposable. Reuse is not recommended for HACCP environments because contamination accumulates. The pricing makes daily fresh-issue economical.
Are these resistant to harsh chemicals?
PE aprons resist water, food-grade fluids, mild acids, and standard food-safety sanitizers. For harsh industrial chemicals, solvents, or high heat, you need vinyl or neoprene aprons — contact us for industrial-grade alternatives.
How do staff put them on?
Standard bib-style with a neck loop and tie-around-back. Universal sizing fits most adults. The lightweight material doesn't restrict movement.
What's the typical use rate?
Most food operations issue 1-2 aprons per shift per worker — fresh at start, replacement if heavily soiled mid-shift. A 20-person operation typically uses 30-40 aprons per shift, or about 6,000-8,000 per year. That's 60-80 cases annually.
