If your facility runs HACCP color-coded blue zones (dairy, ready-to-eat, refrigerated), the choice between blue pleated and blue folded is mostly about workflow. Folded wins when: dispensing speed matters (high-traffic entry to a blue zone), storage space is tight, or you're equipping a visitor/contractor program for the blue zone. Pleated wins when: workers wear caps for full shifts and comfort over time becomes the deciding factor. Many facilities run both — folded at zone entry for visitors and short-task workers, pleated for production-line workers staying in the zone all shift.
Blue folded comes in 21" and 24" — the two universal adult sizes that cover virtually every working head. The 21" fits most short-to-medium hair without issue. The 24" provides extra coverage for long hair, ponytails, and thick hair that doesn't compress under a 21". Stocking both gives you a no-compromise fit for every worker. The 28" size we offer in white folded isn't carried in blue because the use cases for 28" (specialty hair coverage, hooded gear) don't typically apply in HACCP blue zones.
Dairy and refrigerated zones often have high traffic in and out — cleaning crews, maintenance staff, QA inspectors, line workers rotating between zones. Each zone entry requires a fresh cap. Folded caps dispense faster than pleated (no tangling at the dispenser opening), they take less space in entry-station dispensers, and they cost slightly less per cap — all of which adds up when your facility goes through hundreds of caps per shift across multiple zone-entry points.
Blue is also the universal clinical color in non-sterile healthcare settings. Hospitals, clinics, and outpatient facilities often choose blue folded for high-volume head-cover programs because the format dispenses faster from wall-mount units and the color signals "clinical, non-sterile" in environments where blue is already the default for gowns, gloves, and other PPE.
