White pleated bouffant caps are the universal hair-containment solution for facilities that need a single, all-purpose cap across multiple departments. Available in three sizes — 18" for petite fits and short hair, 21" for standard adult use, and 24" for long hair, ponytails, and full-coverage applications — white is the default colour for any environment without a HACCP color-coding requirement, and the most economical option for facilities standardizing on one SKU.

Why Three Sizes Matter

Bouffant caps aren't one-size-fits-all in practice. The standard 21" size fits most adult heads with short to medium hair, but it falls short in two scenarios: (1) workers with long hair who need the extra coverage of a 24" cap to fully tuck hair underneath without forcing it, and (2) workers with smaller heads for whom a 21" cap sits too loose and slides during work. The 18" cap solves the small-fit problem; the 24" cap solves the long-hair problem. Stocking all three lets your facility fit every worker properly without compromise.

Why White Is the Default Choice

White is the default colour for facilities without HACCP color-coding requirements. It signals general hygiene without signaling a specific zone (which the colored caps do — blue for dairy, red for meat, etc.). For offices, healthcare, laboratories, food service back-of-house, and most cleanroom environments, white is the right answer. It's also the most consistently stocked colour across the industry, which means lower per-unit pricing and faster fulfillment than specialty colours.

Pleated Construction Explained

The pleated style uses an accordion-folded crown that expands as you pull it on, then settles back to grip the head. This is the more comfortable and forgiving fit compared to folded (flat-disc) caps — pleated stretches to accommodate different head shapes and sits more naturally on most workers. For day-long wear, pleated is what most workers prefer.

Sourcing & Compliance

Non-woven polypropylene is the FDA / CFIA-recognized material standard for hair containment in food contact environments. The single elastic construction is non-sterile and single-use — designed to be thrown out at the end of a shift, not laundered. For sterile environments (operating rooms, sterile compounding pharmacies), you need different gear; bouffant caps are for clean-but-not-sterile work.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which size should I order for my facility?
If you don't know your team's hair distribution, start with 21" as the universal default — it fits most adults with short-to-medium hair. Add 24" if you have workers with long hair who can't tuck their hair fully under a 21". Add 18" only if you have workers (or a clean-zone visitor program) where smaller-head fits matter. Most facilities run 21" + 24" and skip 18".
Why pleated instead of folded?
Pleated caps stretch and grip the head more naturally during a shift — the accordion construction adapts to different head shapes. Folded caps lay flat in the bag (easier to store, slightly cheaper) but can fit looser on some workers. Most facilities prefer pleated for primary use; folded is sometimes used as a budget option for visitors or low-stakes zones.
Are these food-safe?
Yes. Non-woven polypropylene is the standard FDA / CFIA-recognized material for hair containment in food contact environments. They're designed for food production, food service, food packaging, and any HACCP-certified facility.
What's the case quantity?
1,000 caps per case (100 caps per bag, 10 bags per case). Each bag is sized for a typical workstation or break room dispenser refill. Most food facilities run through 1–2 cases per week per 50 production workers.
Can I order mixed sizes in one case?
Each case is single-size. For pallet-quantity orders, we can build mixed pallets across sizes and colors. Email Sales@clwdistributor.com with your facility's headcount and preferred size mix and we'll quote accordingly.
What's the difference between this and the colored versions?
Same cap, same construction, same material — just white instead of blue/yellow/green/red/orange. White is the universal default. Colors are used for HACCP zone-coding (blue for dairy, yellow for poultry, etc.). If your facility doesn't use color-coding, white is what you want.
